The Bosses Coat
Why do it? that was the reply from my daughter, I did have to think about it for a bit. I enjoyed the last awaydayyellows and reggies rumours, a lot has changed the last few years people getting upset by the smallest comment, banter or bantz as the kids say has almost disappeared. What is the first subject to cover then... The FLA march, being called a racist or Left Right Centre? No it has to be the bosses coat. Daniel Farke and his coat (now being a bit of coat geek if there is such a thing) got me studying the TV looking for a Label, the wife saying its Primark didn't stop my mission.
So I received a text message from my daughter one morning, 'I know what make Daniel Farkes coat is!' The excitement built until I read the name, what? PEUTEREY? it must be German was my first thought, everything seems to be German at the moment, a quick type into my laptop revealed another of the great ones secrets https://www.Peuterey.com/gb/
So Peuterey is a little known Italian label, that I must say makes some very nice men's and woman's jackets. A few words below could possibly also describe our manager, only time will tell if he is an endless classic or something pushed to the back of the wardrobe, myself I don't think it will be the latter.
Manifesto
Fashion, today, has turned to fiction. It's all about make-believe, show-off and the pointless urge to express wealth and status through soulless items of clothing. Nothing is what it seems anyway.
We believe that clothing, first and foremost, should satisfy the utterly human necessity of representing oneself within society while being something useful and functional, day by day
The reality of everyday life is far more challenging than any fiction: it requires the supreme effort of being yourself. Clothing should follow suit, making the person come through, not the designs he or she is wearing. Thereafter we call for a new realism: one that puts fashion design at the service of customers, not the other way round.
We herald clothing as functional, modular and adaptable as uniforms: for people who think, dream, create. Uniform does not mean uniformity. On the contrary, it means clothing at its most useful and democratic. Pieces that serve a purpose and put the wearer to the fore, because a uniform makes the person more important than the clothes.
Peuterey feels an affinity with individuals who live and have no interest, nor time, for exhibitionism. People who give back to society and form bonds, families, units. People who need to be clothed, not costumed.
We strive for designs that are soulful and timeless. Truth, honesty, purposefulness: that's the new luxe. While fashion vanishes in the perilous lands of storytelling, we are advocates for #realitytelling. The story is up to our customers, day by day.
